Switzerland is the tenth largest export market for French wines and spirits.

Consumption of wines and spirits in Switzerland is not very dynamic: stable for spirits, even decreasing for wines. In this context, French wine and spirit exports significantly increased in 2018, with sales representing more than 390 million euros, making Switzerland our tenth customer.

Commercial relations between the European Union and Switzerland are very open, as a result of a bilateral agreement that came into force in 2005 and that facilitates trade of wines and spirits by reducing tariff barriers.

The relative proximity of Swiss and European regulatory environments also contributes to maintaining a high level of export to this country.
